As one of the grass root activities of Atlas Interfaith Foundation, the Noah's Pudding celebrates the common heritage of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. In the Muslim prophetic tradition, the day Moses (peace be upon him) and his community were saved.

The Atlas Foundation is proud to announce, in honor of UNESCO declaring 2007 the year of Mawlana Jalaladdin Rumi, special performance of The Whirling Dervishes of Rumi. The Whirling Dervishes have drawn acclaim for their unique forms of dance and accompanying reed flutes, drums and chants.

What is Noah's Pudding?

Also known as asure, this unique Turkish dessert is made with barley, legumes, dried fruits, and nuts. Traditional folklore holds that Noah gathered all of the remaining foodstuffs to make this sweet pudding when he and his family left the ark. Today it is customary to share the dish with others.

Traditionally in Turkey, henna night, or kina gecesi is a women's party that usually takes place the night before the wedding. The bride's closest friends and female family members gather to eat, dance, and sing. They put henna on their hands.

ATLAS foundation has given start to Turkish Culinary Art courses. Friends were invited to a cooking class-get together on Saturday, February 23rd at 2 PM. Menu of the day consisted of musakka (Egyptian style, fried eggplant dish), roasted peppers (Spanish) and asure (Turkish/Middle Eastern, wheat pudding).

Atlas Foundation, founded in 2002 in New Orleans, LA, is a non-profit,  multicultural, faith based organization, operating for spiritual and educational purposes.

We are dedicated to discovering and celebrating the common ties that bind us as brothers and sisters and fostering understanding, tolerance, respect, and love of our fellow human beings through dialogue.

We do this through programs which enrich our lives and encourage dialogue. 

These programs include:

  • Ramadan dinners (Iftars) and Noah's Pudding (Asure) served in the community
  • Annual Dinner
